Piston Automotive is seeking Production Associates for our facility in Redford, MI! The Production Associate performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce automotive products.
This role operates machines per work instructions, works at different work stations and/or departments as production needs require.
Will works on the assembly line where tasks vary as different models of same article moves along line.
Works with other Associates to set up machines, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished parts.
Should be a team player that helps others in need and works proactively to minimize production downtime.

Responsibilities:
Reads job specifications and work instructions to determine work needed and material requirements.
Positions work piece against stops or aligns layout marks with fixture.
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
Check parts to determine accuracy.
Performs jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
Drives industrial lift vehicle with lifting devices such as forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
Meets production requirements including cycle time on a daily basis.
Can operate all work stations within the department Verify quality issues shown on defective code list.

Qualifications:
A minimum of high school diploma or GED is required Fork Lift certification perfered Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
PREFERRED SKILLS/
Qualifications:
One month of experience in a Production Associate role or a related position.
